Rick E. Mamie Obituary
Rick E. Mamie, 51, of Boston, Ma., formerly of Willoughby, passed away June 12, 2014, in Boston.
Rick was born May 2, 1963, in Euclid.
He graduated from Willoughby South High School, then entered the U.S. Navy, serving a tour on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Upon being discharged, Rick worked in the hydraulics field, then decided to become a chef. Rick traveled the United States, even cooking at a Wolfgang Puck Restaurant in Florida.
Rick is participating in a research program to help other victims and soldiers having severe brain stem trauma, by donating his brain to M.G.H., Harvard College of Medical Research and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Rick's personality and charm will be truly missed. He was loved by so many!
Rick is survived by his wife, Debbi (nee Vieten) of Boston; mother, Jean Mamie-Helfer (Bob) of Willoughby; brother, Clark Mamie (Kathy) of Mentor; sisters, Sue Totedo (Perry) and Diane Ansel (Sam) both of Willoughby; nieces, Kristine Mamie and Amanda Ansel; nephews, Bill Mamie and Zak Ansel; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard G. Mamie Jr.; grandparents, Leonard and Rose Mamie Sr. , Vernon and Viena Doersch; and his niece, Stephanie Totedo, whom he loved dearly.
There will be no calling hours. Private burial will be at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
