Elizabeth T. Lumpp went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2014, at the Winchester Medical Center.
She was born to the late Robert Samuel Toney and Lacy Lee Harris on September 14, 1926, in Ore Bank, Virginia. She was a graduate of Arvonia High School in Arvonia, Va.
She married her soul mate, Richard Lee Lumpp, on September 14, 1946, in Bremo Bluff, Va. They were married for 66 years prior to Richard's Homegoing in 2013. While living in Madison, Ohio, Beth belonged to the First Baptist Church of Madison. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Madison. When the family moved to Winchester, Beth worked with her husband for the family businesses, Forest Hill Associates and ServiceMaster of Winchester.
She belonged to the First Baptist Church in Winchester, was a member of the Philia Class and sang with the Singing Seniors. She loved the Hunting Ridge Retreat, a ministry of the church.
Beth is survived by a son, Richard E. Lumpp and his wife, Sharon, of Winchester; a daughter, Susan E. Lumpp of Madison, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Walter L. Lumpp and his wife, Mabel, of Charlottesville, Va.; nine grandchildren; Richard A. Lumpp of Texas, Karen Senn of Kapolei, Hawaii, Michael White and Rachael Wilburn of Winchester, Megan White of Madison, Ohio, Kenny Lumpp, Alicia Lumpp Swain and David E. Lumpp all of Winchester, Va. and ten great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lumpp White; a son, David Lee Lumpp; grandson, Stephen Lumpp; a brother-in-law, Robert W. Lumpp; two sisters; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. George Fletcher officiating. A fellowship reception will follow the service. A private burial will be held in Green Hill Cemetery, Stephens City, Va., next to her beloved Richard, Patty and David.
