Helen E. Svoboda, age 95, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 2, 2014.
She was born in Cleveland on October 13, 1918, to Louis and Elizabeth Szabo, both deceased.
Helen worked for Ohio Bell, Federal Reserve Bank and Higbee's. She loved to play cards, work puzzles, read books and watch her "stories". In her youth, she attended Sokol for gymnastics and enjoyed bowling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Helen is survived by her loving family; children, Evelyn Svoboda, Marie (Joe) Ruvolo, Barbara (Bob) Allen, Rita Svoboda; grandchildren, Brian (Rebecca) and Joseph (Tiffany) Ruvolo, Jim (Sara), Jeff and Matt (Izia) Svoboda, Alexis Allen; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Baby Lucas Svoboda, Nicholas Ruvolo.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Jim, who passed away in 1975; children, Jean and Jim; and her siblings, Betty, Mary, Gizella, Katherine, and Lou

A Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2014, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower, Mentor. Burial will immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
