Evelyn Shirley (nee Ryan) Foerst, age 93, of Willoughby, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at Fairmount Health Care Center in Willoughby, Ohio.
She was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, and was a Lake County resident for 14 years living at Breckenridge in Willoughby, Ohio.
Evelyn was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Willoughby, Ohio, and affectionately known as the "Pot Lady of Breckenridge".
She was the loving mother of Robert J. (Bettye) Shirley of Mentor, Thomas J. (Catherine) Shirley of Mentor; mother-in-law of Gail Shirley of Cleveland Hts.; cherished grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 17; sister of Phyllis Paulus; and sister-in-law of Joanne Ryan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John G. Shirley; second husband, Albert Foerst; parents, Thomas and Edna Ryan; son, William R. Shirley (2011); brothers, Terry Ryan and Bill Ryan; and brother-in-law, Carl Paulus.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Ohio. Fr. Chris Weber will officiate at the service.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Ohio. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
