Margaret S. Walters Obituary
Margaret S. Walters, age 89, passed away Friday July 18, 2014, at Emeritus at Mentor.
She was born August 5, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo.
Margaret grew up in Edgefield, South Carolina and was one of eight children. She graduated from Montreat College in North Carolina where she was president of the Charm Club. She then moved to Augusta, Georgia, where she met her husband "Wally." They then moved to Mentor and raised their two daughters. Margaret worked as a dental assistant and secretary at B. Komar DDS and then retired after many years working at the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation as an executive secretary. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, participating in church activities and walking. Margaret welcomed all to her home and had a sign outside that said "ya'll come back."
Survivors are her daughters, Karen (Robert) Fink and Virginia (Ginger) Pryor; grandchildren, Tracy (Daniel) Hartnett, Thomas (Jennifer) Lingafelter, Heather (Jerry) Shirer, Rebecca (Jermaine) James, Megan Pryor, Melissa Chadwick and Kristen (David) Ritchey. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Padgett, Joan (William) Moody and Virginia Brook; two sisters-in-law, Jewell Seawright and Beverly Seawright; and one brother-in-law, Mac McKnight.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Walters; her parents, John Carol and Claudia Seawright; two brothers, Carol and William Seawright; and two sisters, Evelyn McKnight and Betty Momeier.
Funeral Service will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Interment will be at Mentor Cemetery.
