Memorial Mass for Rita Christine (nee Lombard) Jelenic, age 80, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at St. Bede the Venerable Parish, 9114 Lake Shore Blvd., Mentor.
Family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in Mentor Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Jelenic was born on May 23, 1934, and passed away peacefully on July 26, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
Rita retired as a vice president for several area banks. She loved traveling and casinos, but most importantly her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles R. Jelenic, whom she married on July 13, 1957; loving mother of Karen (Daryl) Thomas and Michael (Kathy) Jelenic; cherished grandmother of Brian Thomas (Erin Gebhard), Melissa (Jason) Pokorny, Amanda (Andy) Linden, Erin Jelenic (Steve Williams), Craig Thomas and Michael Jelenic; great-grandmother of Colton and Charlie Linden and Caden Williams; sister of Helen Criniti, Phyllis Mottoss, Cynthia Petro and Gerald (Kathy) Lombard; and sister-in-law of Joseph Credico.
Preceded in death by her parents, Christine and James Lombard; siblings, Anthony (Helen) Lombard, Louise Credico and Marie (Joseph) Iacobacci; brother-In-laws, Joseph Criniti, George Mottoss and Vincent Petro.
