Ruth E. Kalb Obituary

Ruth E. Kalb, formerly of Bucyrus, passed away at Altercare of Mentor. She was born July 3, 1917, in Akron, the first of four children born to Esta and Albert Taylor. Ruth married Marvin Kalb in 1941.
In her retirement years Ruth enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, making homemade noodles and angel food cakes to share with others. She lived most of her life in the Bucyrus area and was an active member of the former Epworth United Methodist Church, the Mary-Martha Class, and the Ruth Circle. She retired from the former Swan Rubber Company where she worked for many years as well as helping on the farm and being a home maker. She moved to the Painesville/Mentor area in 2011 to be closer to her son and daughter. She was proud of her family and shared many stories of growing up in various parts of Ohio.
Ruth is survived by a son, Rev. Gerald (Roberta) Kalb of Painesville; daughter, Dana (Jeff) Wagner of Mentor; daughter-in-law, Susan (Monroe) Kalb-Yoder of Goshen, Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Jim Kalb, Jackie (Chris) Kelly, Mark McKibben, Adam (Sue) Kalb, Thom (Melissa) Kalb, Jennifer (Joe) Schapel, Sam (Lauren) Kalb, and Lauren Wagner; great grandchildren, Andrew and Kaylin, Kelly, Noah, Chad, Bailey, Rachel, Nick, Olivia, Austin Kalb, and Ryan Schapel; sisters-in-law, Joy Taylor, Dee Taylor, Lola Eckstein, and Jean Kalb; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Kalb; son, Jim Kalb; brothers, Lester, Kenneth, Calvin, Taylor; sisters-in-law, Freda Dobbins, Ilene Hern; and brother-in-law, Harold Kalb.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Bucyrus United Methodist Church, 227 S. Walnut Street, Bucyrus. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Broken Sword Cemetery.
