William L. "Bill" Phillis, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2014.
William was born in Cleveland, and grew up in Rock Creek where he spent many happy days hunting and fishing. He was veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. William co-owned and served as Vice President of Phil-Matic Screw Products Inc. in Eastlake until retirement. After retirement, William relocated to Florida where he enjoyed many years with his wife, Dorothea. William was a 32nd Degree Mason from the Willoughby Lodge #302 and he was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland. Those around him always enjoyed his good sense of humor. William enjoyed dancing and homemade desserts.
William is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothea (Nickerson) Phillis; children, Lucinda "Cindy" (Fraser) Young, and Renee Elliott; sister, Carol Brickell; sister-in-law, Wendy Phillis; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and his extended family.
William was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Phillis; parents, Lawrence and Doris Phillis; brother, Larry Phillis; and brother in law, Delbert Brickell.
Per William's last wishes no calling hours will be held.
