Funeral Mass for Edward D. Howells, 82, of Richmond Heights, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Chris Weber will officiate the Mass.
Mr. Howells passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Aug. 13, 1931, in Cleveland, he had lived in South Euclid before moving to Richmond Heights 15 years ago.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, loved to bowl and golf, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
He was the beloved husband of 29 years to Marilyn J. (nee Santorelli) Howells; loving father of Denise June (David) Fox, Darrell D. Howells, Darwin L. (Laura) Howells, Andrea D. Burnett and Dawn K. (Keith) Doty; cherished grandfather of Krysta, Kyle, Amanda, Sarah, Marcus, Alyssa and Amanda; and great-grandfather of Isabella and Austin. He also leaves his dogs, Heidi, Jack and Kay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary (nee Kornuta) Howells; grandson, Matthew Edward; and son-in-law, Michael Burnett.
Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made in care of the family.
