Kevan L. Schimpf, 62, of Madison, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Aug. 4th, 2014.
She was born June 28th, 1952 to Carl W. and Virginia E. Kehl at Lake County Memorial Hospital in Painesville.
After graduating from Andrews School for Girls in 1971, she was employed by Higbees in Mentor and Carlisles in Painesville. On March 18th, 1972 she married Thomas M. Schimpf in Madison, who survives her.
She is also survived by her children, Corey T., who is a Doctoral Candidate at
in Lafayette, Indiana; Tyler M., who is an I.T. Technician at Perry Local School District; Mackenzie A., who is employed by Reiders Supermarket in Concord Township; and her canine daughter Sadie. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Perkins (Tom, deceased) of Houston, Texas; Kathie Murch (Bob) of Kirtland; Mother-in-law Mae Cantrell and sister-in-law Linda Golding (Tim). Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
She was an adopted mother to many of her kid's friends. She was also an excellent cook; if you came to one of the kid's birthdays or graduation parties and went away hungry, you were at the wrong house. All of our houses (and some of our friends) bore her attention to detail, style, color, and interior decorating.
There will be Celebration of Life service at Thompson Square United Methodist Church on Thompson Square on Sept. 12th, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Coffee and desserts will be served after the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions for the children can be sent to Tom Schimpf at 5760 Chapel Rd, Madison, Ohio 44057.
