Shirley Ann (Piatak) Doblar Obituary
Shirley Ann (Piatak) Doblar, age 84, of Perry Twp. for the past seven years, formerly of Mentor, died Monday, August 4, 2014, at home with her husband by her side.
She was born January 16, 1930, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Doblar was a homemaker and volunteer. She was an advocate of the mentally disabled and volunteered for many causes. She enjoyed golf, gardening and driving her car. Shirley was a graduate of Maple Heights High School class of 1948.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Duane D. Doblar; sons, Duane David (Cheryl) Doblar of Lilburn, Ga., Randy Alan (Debra) Doblar of Redmond, Wash., and Eric Judson Doblar of Painesville; grandchildren, Douglas, Peter and Zachary Doblar; siblings, Peter Piatak of Wilson, Texas, Kenneth Piatak of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Louise Rowden of Riverside, Calif.; sister-in-law, Arleen Tummino and brother-in-law, Warren Doblar.
Preceding Shirley in death are her parents, Peter and Josephine Piatak; and sister, Patricia Taglarine.
A Memorial service will be 4:30 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor,
The family will receive friends prior to the service, Thursday, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to The Willoughby Workshop of Lake County Board of D.D., 2100 Joseph Lloyd Parkway, Willoughby, OH. 44094 or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland 44110.
