1925 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Mass of Christian Burial for John Paul Stebal, Jr., 89, of Richmond Heights, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Vine St. at E. 320th St., Willowick.
Mr. Stebal died Sunday at Grande Pointe Nursing Facility in Richmond Heights.
He was born on May 31, 1925, in Cleveland. He resided in Richmond Heights for 19 years, previously residing in Mentor.
In 1975, he founded Stebal Music in Willowick. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a life-long teacher, author and performer. He was a life-time member of the Cleveland YMCA, and a member of the Cleveland Federation of Musicians Union Local #4.
He is survived by his children, Melanie (Gary) Skerl, Karen Matthews, John Paul III (Susan), Jack, and Lorna Ava; his grandchildren, Nicole, Lindsay, John Paul IV, Emily and Annalesia; great grandchildren, Alexus, Reef; and a sister, LaVerne (Wade) Gill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul and Laura (Nagorski); and a brother, Robert.
The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of John from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Rd. (Between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery with Military Honors.
