Nancy M. (nee Burg) Shutts, age 89 of Claridon Twp, formerly of Waterford Pa., passed away August 17, 2014, at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg Township.|
She was born May 26, 1925, in Erie, Pa., to Lewis P. and Inez (nee NyBerg) Burg, she had been a lifelong Erie resident, retiring to the Waterford area.
She graduated from Mercyhurst College with a degree in Fine Arts and Education.
Nancy was an avid gardener, tending to her rose garden and a talented oil painter, loving landscapes and outdoor scenes. She enjoyed entertaining friends at her property in Waterford, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person, acting as a ""caretaker"" to her fellow residents at Blossom Hill. Nancy will be greatly missed by all she knew.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl (David) Albert of Erie, Pa., Barbara (William) Grande of Erie, Pa., Janice (James) Stankiewicz of Chardon, Nancy (David) Lintelman of Waterford, Pa. and James (Sally) of Waterford, Pa.; grandchildren, Michael Grande, Andrea (nee Grande) Brinkley, Daniel Albert, Anne (nee Stankiewicz) Shire, Jon Shutts, Mary Stankiewicz, Charles Lintelman, Maggie Shutts and Rose Lintelman; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Logan Brinkley, Morgan Shire and Bella Shutts; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Shutts; brothers, Herbert and Donald Burg; sister, JoAnn Ruggles; son, Robert Shutts; and grandson, Jason Albert.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Luther Memorial Church in Erie, Pa., at a later date.
