John T. Kanuch, 77, of Gulf Shores, Ala., died peacefully Sept. 16, 2010, in Roaming Shores.

Born Oct. 16, 1932, in Cleveland, Mr. Kanuch had spent the last 20 years living in Alabama and Ohio.
Mr. Kanuch was a graduate of Brush High School in South Euclid and John Carroll University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War, where he was a crew member of a Manila, Philippines based PBY airplane on anti-submarine patrol.
Mr. Kanuch was the owner of Alloy Bellows Inc. of Cleveland from the 1950s through the 1990s.
He was past president of the Cleveland Rotary Club and president of the former Society for Crippled Children in Cleveland. An avid golfer, Mr. Kanuch was a member of the Craft Farms Country Club in Golf Shores, Ala.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 58 years, Marie "Sally" (nee Hoy); sons, John (Claude), Steven (Carrie), and Michael (Serena); daughter, Victoria (Todd) Williams; grandchildren, Krista (Rick) Shartzer, Erin (Damion) Assink, Ellen Kanuch, Thomas Kanuch, Maegan (Greg) Bratton, Gretchen Stroud, Clifton Williams, Sean Kanuch and Ryan Bunch; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Dana, Vincent, Johnny, Samson, Alyssa, Madeline, Julia and Olivia; brothers, Robert and James Kanuch; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, John and Katherine; sister, Kathleen; and sisters-in-law, Anita Kanuch and Patricia Kanuch, are deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, where services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday.
