Allan P. Lewis Services for Allan P. Lewis, age 92, of Euclid the past 65 years, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., Mentor 44060. Mr. Lewis died Oct. 13, 2010, at Summerville in Mentor. He was born May 6, 1918, in Cleveland. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of Euclid Historical Society and was an avid golfer. He was a member of American Legion Post 141, and East Shore Methodist Church of Euclid. Mr. Lewis was employed by the Cleveland Plain Dealer for 12 years, (two terms) from June 23, 1937 to Nov. 14, 1958, and from Feb. 3, 1969 to Dec. 1, 1981, when he retired. Prior to that, he was employed at the Allan Lewis Art Studio from Nov. 15, 1958 to Feb. 2, 1969, Ferry Cap and Screw and Edwin Allen Bookbinding. Survivors are his children, Susan (Donald) Overberger of Rome, Ohio, Richard Lewis, Jeanette (Jerry) Blackford of Mentor, Kenneth (Laura) Lewis of Willoughby, and Virginia (Timothy) Trigilio of Amherst; grandchildren, Daniel Overberger, Kathleen (Jim) Brant, David (Lisa) Overberger, Kevin Lewis, Kimberly (John) Lovsin, Juliet (Bob) Drotleff, Jaina (Anthony) Gandolfi, Adam Lewis, Lindsay (Joe) Sayre, and Angela, Amy and Carrie Trigilio; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances (nee, Lowell) Lewis; and brothers, Harry and Robert Lewis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield.
