Funeral services for Jack D. Rogers, 69, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Pastor Aaron Taylor of Painesville Assembly of God Church will officiate.|
Mr. Rogers passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby with his family at his side.
Born Nov. 15, 1941, in Red Star, W.Va., he had been a Lake County resident for the past 42 years, living in Mentor.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of V.F.W. Post 1500 in Willoughby. Jack loved to go fishing and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He was a man known for his humor and would do anything for anybody.
Mr. Rogers was the owner of Rogers Plumbing and Heating of Mentor.
He was the loving father of Michelle M. (Douglas) Reed of Painesville Township and Mike J. (Christina) Rogers of Mentor; cherished grandfather of Nick and Ben Reed and Amanda Galla; great-grandfather of Madeline; fiance of Diane E. Bohana of Mentor; brother of Betty Bellamy and Ann Hammaker; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene J. (Garrow) Rogers in 2000; parents, William E. and Alice (Coulter) Rogers; and siblings, Rose Forrest, Zenia Beck, Rudolph Rogers, Hinkie Calhoun, Joe Rogers and Bunk Rogers.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
