Edward E. Carroll Obituary
Edward E. Carroll, 97, of Chester Township, passed away Jan. 23, 2012, at Holly Hill Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Cleveland, he had lived in Cleveland Heights before moving to Chester Township 13 years ago.
Ed was a member of the West Geauga Senior Center, Young of Hearts at St. Anselm Catholic Church, Woodmen of the World and formerly St. Margaret Mary Church. Ed enjoyed ballroom dancing and is described by his family as very friendly and outgoing who loved to socialize.
He had worked as a welder.
Survivors are his son, Thomas M. (Marie); daughter, Margaret A. (Charles) Janki; grandchildren, Deborah Francis (Michael), Daniel Janki (Terri), and Brian Janki (Alison); and great-grandchildren, Austin and Julia Francis, Madeline, Caroline, Ryan, Beck, Zella and Wells Janki. He was also the dear uncle and great-uncle to many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mary Carroll (nee Lang); parents, Thomas M. and Catherine (nee Whalen); brother, Michael Joseph Carroll; sisters, Hazel Keiser and Helen Winstanley; sister-in-law, Florence; and brothers-in-law, Boyd Keiser and William Winstanley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 13013 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Father Sweany will officiate. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, 480 Highland Road, Northfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of South Euclid, 4600 Mayfield Road (just east of Green Road).
