Earl G. Stocker Obituary
Earl G. Stocker, 92, of Thompson, died peacefully Thursday, June 7, 2012, at home surrounded by his family in prayer, song and laughter.
Born July 16, 1919, in Thompson to Mary (Rose) and Anthony Stocker, he was a lifelong Thompson resident.
Earl loved his family, worked throughout his entire life as a dairy farmer, and had a passion for horses as a trainer and exhibitor. He was a Thompson Township trustee for 33 years and was president of the trustee's association.
Mr. Stocker was also a Thompson school bus driver for 32 years. He was former owner of Stocker's on the Park Restaurant.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara (nee Bisig) Stocker of Thompson, whom he married Nov. 29, 1950; children, Timothy (Marie) Stocker of Harpersfield, Anita Stocker of Thompson, Anthony (Susan) Stocker of Saybrook, Deborah Stocker of Rock Creek, Dottie Stocker of Rock Creek, Loretta (Mark) Steele of Madison, Jeffrey Stocker of Thompson, Constance (Dr. Jerry) Patriarca of Concord Township, Cynthia (Robert) McElhatten of Brandon, Fla., Mimi Miller of Geneva, and Michael (Annette) Stocker of Madison; 27 grandchildren, Carly, Damon, Frances, Timothy, Garrett, Ryan, Jessica, Patrick, Mariah, Courtland, Olivia, Michael, Steven, Philip, Courtney, Robby, Vincenzo, Antonio, Jordyn, Jenna, Anna, Kellen, Meagan, Nicole, Edward, Sabrina, and Maria; 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, George Stocker, Katherine Stocker, Clara Papp, Joseph Stocker, Irene Sipos, Edward Stocker, Rosemary Stocker, and Robert Stocker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Road, Thompson.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River St., Madison.
