Services for Edward A. Kickel, 85, of Willoughby, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The Rev. David T. Durkit of Fellowship United Church of Christ will officiate at the services.|
Mr. Kickel passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at his home.
Born Oct. 5, 1927, in Cleveland, he had lived in Willoughby for the past 55 years.
Mr. Kickel was a United States Coast Guard veteran and a member of Fellowship United Church Christ in Wickliffe. He was a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School's Class of 1945.
Edward was self-employed, having owned and operated Becker's Service Station in Willowick. He retired in 1984 after 32 years of service.
Survivors are his sons, Edward S. (Aimee) Kickel and Keith A. (Angela Voland) Kickel of Willoughby; granddaughter, Lauren Kickel of Houston, Texas; and sisters, Helen Dick, Mildred Telliard, Joan (Duane) Wahl, Carol (Howard) Tropp and Margaret (Michael) Zuccaro.
His wife of 56 years, Joyce A. (Dear) Kickel passed away Aug. 1, 2007. His parents, Aloysius and Helen (Riedel); sister, Ruth Kickel; brothers-in-law, Carl Dick and Thomas Telliard are also deceased.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park, Mayfield Village.
