The Guest Book is expired.
The daughter of the late Fred and Ethel (Snider) Ball, Erma was born July 7, 1929, in Grantsville, W.Va.
Erma had a very strong moral compass - believing in fairness, honesty, loyalty and integrity - values she passed on to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Erma was heard to say many times, ""I've given you the tools for life, and now it's up to you to pick them up and use them."" Erma also taught her family to count their blessings and to help those less fortunate than themselves.
Erma devoted her life to her family. She was a Girl Scout leader, troop leader, homeroom mother, PTA president and booster parent. She was also instrumental in growing and sanctioning the Mentor-Lake Area baseball league in 1963 and could often be found lining the fields and keeping score at the games. She took great pride in watching the accomplishments of ""one of my Little Leaguers."" Erma retired from The May Company where she worked as a waitress in the Mayfair Room.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 64 years, Edsel; daughters, Marjorie (Larry) Wright and Doris Moss; son, Ed (Mary) Moss; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
An avid dog lover, Erma requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Mentor Police Department K-9 Unit, 8500 Civic Center Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
