Jerome Anthony "Jerry" Corbran Obituary
Jerome Anthony "Jerry" Corbran, 87, a longtime Euclid resident, passed away Jan. 13, 2013, at Geauga Hospital.
Born in Sheffield, Pa., to Anthony and Victoria (Kujawa) Corbran, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded a Purple Heart.
Jerry moved his family to Euclid in 1956, and spent the next 55 years involved in a variety of civic and political activities, including founding the Euclid Taxpayers Alliance. He played a key role in the establishment of the Briardale Greens Golf Course and assisted in the innovative design of the stormwater recycling project used to irrigate the course greens. Jerry was also one of the earliest proponents for the Euclid Lakefront Development Project now in progress.
He is survived by his wife of more than 64 years, Doretta (Warren); four children, Doreen (Edward) McCarthy, Tina Sajn, Tony (Treva) Corbran and Tammy (John) Hill; 13 beloved grandchildren; and sisters, Connie Albaugh and Patti Frawley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dora and Wallace Warren; and brothers, Joseph and John Corbran.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Corrigan-Deighton Funeral Home, 21900 Euclid Ave., Euclid.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Sts. Robert and William Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
