James McKinley Brush, age 92, of Painesville Township, passed Dec. 25, 2012, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.

He was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Cleveland to the late Leonard and Florence (McKinley) Brush.
He was retired from Braden's California Food Products, where he was a sales representative.
Jim was a member of the Painesville United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, Painesville Lions Club, the Lakeland Community Chorus, was a swimming instructor at the YMCA and worked with the Hope Ridge Youth Group. He also enjoyed painting with watercolors. Jim was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine Corps, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Ruzick), whom he married in 1948 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Cleveland; daughter, Betsy Brush of Parma; son, James J. ( Marianna M. Knue) Brush of Cincinnati; and grandchildren, Sarah Zielinski, Adrian James Brush and Colin Michael Brush.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Painesville United Methodist Church. Burial was held at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
