Funeral Mass for Jean M. (Henesey) Dever, 77, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Bede the Venerable.|
Jean passed away March 28, 2013, at Hospice of the Western Reserve surrounded by her family.
She was born in 1935 in Chicago, Ill., to Bertrand and Dorothy Henesey.
Jean retired from Rockwell Automation in Euclid, and she also had worked for Lake Catholic High School and Lake Volkswagen in Mentor.
She was a founding member of St. Bede the Venerable and a longtime member of Mentor Harbor Yachting Club. Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. She enjoyed anything that included her family and friends. She could often be found watching a sailing regatta, swim meet, or school sporting event and in more recent years, baking cookies and cupcakes for everyone she knew.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Dan Jackett) Imbler, Patricia (Jeffrey) Whitaker, Colleen (Timothy Ferron), James (Kendra), Timothy and Kathleen (Jeffrey) Steiss; grandchildren, Delaney, Lauren, Melissa, Robert, Ryan, Eric (Shellie), Todd, Michelle, Matt, Melissa, Hannah and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Alyssa and Brooklynne; and sister-in-law, Joan Henesey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neil Dever; son, Michael; and brother, James Henesey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
