Andy J. Totin, 83, of Painesville, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Kemper House in Mentor after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Hubbard.
Mr. Totin attended Hubbard High School. After serving in the Army Air Corps, he started his career in the Ohio Highway Patrol. He went on to serve over 20 years of public service in Lake County as county clerk of courts. He was active during this time in the Republican Party. Mr. Totin was also the owner of Angela's Pizza in Painesville from 1962 to 1981.
He was a longtime member and past Exhaulted Ruler of the Painesville Elks Lodge 549 and served on the Concord board of zoning appeals.
Mr. Totin is survived by his wife, Barbara (Carruthers) Totin, whom he married April 30, 1955; two children, Andrew James ""Jamie"" of Concord and Allan Jay of Powell; two grandchildren, Emilie and Matthew; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, followed by a 2 p.m. service at First Church Congregational, 22 Liberty St., Painesville, officiated by the Rev. Thomas J. Cofer and Deacon John Motis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First Church Congregational or Kemper House, 8155 Mentor Hills Drive, Mentor, OH 44060.
Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, OH 44057.
