Robert W. Mayer Jr. Robert W. Mayer Jr., 77, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township. Born Nov. 19, 1935, in Morrow County, he had lived in Painesville Township for the past 38 years. Bob was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who proudly served his country. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1962 with an engineering degree. He was one of the founders of WM Associates Inc. which started in the late 1970s, and served as the vice president until he retired in 1999. For many years, Bob and his wife, Dorine were avid “square dancers” in the Lake County area with the group called “Broken Wheel Squares”. Over the years, Bob and Dorine were able to take many trips together, traveling to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Ireland and many other exciting places. He enjoyed taking Dorine's craft ideas and making them a reality. Survivors are his wife, Dorine whom he had been married to for 58 years; children, Theresa (Scott) Schrumpf of Westlake, Sheryl Chambers of Mystic, Conn., and William (Melissa) Mayer of Painesville Township; grandchildren, Greg, John, David, Michael, Kimberly and Katlyn. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat (Ted) Storer and Barbara (Bill) Brooke; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. Sr. and Gladys Mayer. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
