Winifred S. Palansky, 86, of Claridon Township, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born July 8, 1926, in Cleveland, to Fred and Frances (Grabowski) Kaiser. She was a graduate of Troy High School in Troy Township and a resident of this area since 1943. Married to Charles F. Palansky in 1946, they were married for 50 years before he died in 1997.
Winifred restored furniture and painted from 1947 to 1997. Her hobbies included gardening, antiques, storytelling and reading. She especially loved being with her family and doing family activities. She will be missed dearly.
Her survivors are three daughters, Carol Palansky and Kate (Raymond) Ritchie, both of East Claridon, and Pamela Mann of Middlefield; her grandchildren, Phillip and Shawn Mann of Middlefield and several others; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Svonavic of Garrettsville and Janet Roosa of Mantua.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her son, Charles David Palansky, in 2006; her infant daughter, Amy; her parents; her sister, Katherine Tarpai; her brother, Fred Kaiser; and former fiance of Carol Palansky, Tobey Pirsil, in 2002.
A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at First Congregational Church of Claridon, 13942 Mayfield Road, Claridon Township.
