Dorothy J. Ferguson Obituary
Dorothy J. Ferguson, 92, of Madison, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Madison.
She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Cleveland, to Lucy (Cover) and Roy H. Cole.
Dorothy had worked as a machine operator at Bailey Controls. She was a member of the Madison Historical Society and Lakeside Craft and Garden Club. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Blue Star Mothers and a member of Geneva VFW 6846.
Dorothy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was the family historian and a wealth of love and memories. She loved planning family reunions, polka music, traveling and flowers. Dorothy is deeply loved by family and friends. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Dottie Odegard of Geneva; sons, Larry Ferguson of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Douglas (Cheryl) Ferguson of Rincon, Ga., and Gerald (Myla) Ferguson of Ashtabula; 38 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fran Griffin of Thompson and Virginia Popp of Perry; and brother, Roy H. Cole of Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; son, David Ferguson; parents; second mom, Ann Cole; son-in-law, Bill Odegard; sister, Doris Toenis; brothers, Jim and Frank Cole; grandsons, Andrew and baby Virgil; and longtime friend, Frank Sturm.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. Funeral Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jonathon Schroeder of St. John Lutheran Church will be officiating.
Final resting place will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.
