Dorothy Howitz-Onder, 81, of Mentor, formerly of Willoughby, died June 20, 2013, at Heartland of Mentor. She was born July 15, 1933 in Perryville, Mo.
Dorothy was a generous person who loved everyone. In her younger years, she loved fishing and in her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo at Heartland and going to lunch with her daughter.
Survivors include her sons, Ron (Hermine) Howitz of S.C. and Ray (Carole) Howitz of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Jackie Bednarik of Mentor and Jean (Bob) Schnell of Mentor; grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Jennifer, Geneen, Alena, Rudy, John and Kurt; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Erik, Jack, Lennon, C.J., Leah, Gabriel and Jacob. She was preceded in death by husbands, John Onder and Frank Howitz.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave. Family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
