Services for Edward W. Teske, 78, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at Grace Church of Mentor, 6883 Reynolds Road, Mentor. Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be at Willoughby Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Teske went to be with the Lord July 2, 2013, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born July 2, 1935, in Cleveland, Mr. Teske was a teacher for 34 years at Baptist Christian School, later renamed Orange Christian Academy. He also painted houses on the side.
Mr. Teske was a Sunday School teacher in several local churches for many years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching basketball. He was a Kent State graduate, where he also played baseball. He loved being with his family, talking about the Lord and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn "Joy" (nee Hartline); children, Lisa (Mark) Roth of Strongsville, Todd (Lisa) Teske of Willoughby and Ben (Julie) Teske of Medina; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, June Hauschildt of Pittsburgh, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Lilybeth Teske of Bay Village.
He was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Elsie Teske; and brothers, Fred and Gary Teske.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to the Bethlehem Christian Academy Edward Teske Memorial Fund, 27250 Emery Road, Orange Village, OH 44128 (or at any US Bank).
Arrangements entrusted to Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, Willoughby.
