Kellie B. Wright Jr., 90, of Sebring, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2013, at the Crandall Medical Center.
He was born in Youngstown, son of the late Kellie B. and Millie (Back) Wright Sr.
Kellie bravely served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was an Engineer for the New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail, and Amtrak Railroads having retired in 1986. Kellie was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon, the American Legion, and the Model Railroad Club.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Pendergraft) Wright, whom he married on January 26, 2008; sons, Ronald (Francine) Wright of Quincy, MA and Kevin (Gale) Wright of Wooster; daughters, Carol (Tom) Harding of Solon, Merry (Frank) Sickel of Gladstone, MO and Janis (Mikel) Cheek of Sandusky; 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Lucille) Wright of Youngstown; sister, Hazel (David) Benson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kellie was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Audrey (Musselman) Wright; son, Jeffrey Wright; sisters, Loretta Hollon, Florence Stare, and Alice Frost; and brother, Floyd Lewis Wright.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug.17, 2013, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon with Pastor Mikel Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon or Copeland Oaks Foundation of Sebring.
