Mary Ellen "Mim" (King) Hurban, 58, of Concord Township, went home to be with her Lord Aug. 29, 2013.
Born Apr. 13, 1955, in East Cleveland to Phil W. and Dorothy (Moreland) King, she had been a lifelong area resident.
Mim was a graduate of Chardon High School's Class of 1973 before graduating from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing and earning her paramedic certification at Auburn Career Center. She worked for Geauga Hospital before becoming EMS coordinator for the Lake Hospital System.
Mim enjoyed scrapbooking and was a member of Hambden Congregational Church. Her greatest joys were spending time with her "weiner dogs", being an exceptional caregiver for her parents and spending time with her family.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Mark whom she married Oct. 15, 1994, of Concord Township; father, Phil W. King of Concord Township; brothers, Phil (Marcie) of Chardon and David (Karen) of Munson Township; nieces, Stacey King, McKenzie and Cassidy King and Casey King; nephews, Mason King and Andrew Hurban; and great-nieces, Candace and Camryn Burkhammer.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy M. King.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the Hambden Congregational Church, 13840 G.A.R. Hwy (corner of Routes 6 and 608), Chardon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Private family burial will take place.
