Jeanne M. (Moore) Lyons, 96, of Painesville, passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

Born May 5, 1917, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Euclid for 57 years before moving to Mentor and Painesville seven years ago.
Mrs. Lyons was a former member of Holy Cross Church in Euclid and a member of St. Mary's Church in Mentor. She was a teacher at Holy Cross School for many years and also taught at Hannah Gibbons School in the Cleveland School System. She was formerly an active member of the Irish American Club-East Side, Inc., and loved crossword puzzles.
Jeanne was the loving mother of John F. Lyons of Euclid, Ellen J. Piller of Milwaukee, Wis., and Patricia (John) Wem of Painesville; cherished grandmother of Ellen, Megan, Christopher, Gina, Jennifer and Amy; great-grandmother of 13; and aunt of many.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Lyons in 1983; parents, Howard and Jeanette (Elmrick) Moore; and siblings, Helen Crowley, Dorothy McIvor, Carl Moore and Howard Moore Jr.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
