Memorial services for Andrew R. Orahoske, 89, of Willoughby, will be 6:30 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Orahoske passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Feb. 5, 1924, in Cambridge, he had been a Lake County resident for 61 years, living in Eastlake before moving to Willoughby.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Palmer Roberts American Legion Post 214 in Willoughby. He was a coach for many years with Willoughby Little League Baseball, Willoughby Football and Girl's Softball in Eastlake. He was also coach of the American Legion Post 214 Men's Hardball Team. Andrew loved gardening and always shared his garden with his friends, neighbors and family.
Mr. Orahoske was a retired engineer from T.R.W., having been employed there from 1948 to 1989, and retiring with 41 years of service. He was also a former usher with Lake County Captains. With his love of baseball, he was very lucky to meet his wife at a baseball game and the rest was history.
He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Eleanor M. (nee Kucherak) Orahoske; loving father of Debra A. Mastrangelo, Brian A. (Pamela Albrecht) Orahoske, Cheryl M. Brady, Andrew J. (Patty) Orahoske and David M. (Jill) Orahoske; cherished grandfather of Ryan (Michelle), Renee, Anna, Joseph, Jesse, Jenna, Justin, Tamara, Olivia, Rose, Daniel and Michael; great-grandfather of Grace and Nolan; brother of Michael Orahoske, John Orahoske, Joseph Orahoske, Helen Ness, Ann Orahoske and Julia Brush; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Wible; son-in-law, Jerry Mastrangelo; and parents, Joseph and Anna (nee Breza) Orahoske.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held in Willoughby Cemetery.
