Edward J. Kozel, 87, of Willowick, passed away peacefully Dec. 18, 2013, at home.
Born Sept. 3, 1926, in Gilbert, Minn., he retired from General Motors after 38 years of service.
Edward served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Knight of Columbus Council No. 4801 in Mentor.
Edward is survived by his two children, Anita Hines and James (Doreen) Kozel; grandchildren, Tim (Kristi) Miller, Clark (Michelle) Miller, James Hines, Justin Kozel and Elise Kozel; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ann Kane, Alice Wallace, Frank Kozel and Robert Kozel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Kozel; and his siblings, Bill Kozel and Mary Peternal.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick (Please meet at the church). Private burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
