John A. Dombrowski, 90, of Painesville, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born September 21, 1923, in Ramey, Pa.
John was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed by the Addressograph-Multigraph company and worked in commercial construction for many years. After that he worked managing local hardware stores for 15 years.
John was an active member of the Euclid Veterans, the Euclid Pensioners, the Homes Ave. Pensioners and the Fairport Pensioners.
Survivors are his wife, Lillian (Peklay) whom he was married to for 63 years; children, John (Debra) Dombrowski of Mentor and Cindy (Jim) Hounshell of Concord Township; grandchildren, Jay (Tammy) Dombrowski, Michael (Tina) Dombrowski and Aubry Hounshell. He is also survived by many loving great-grandchildren ;and his sisters, Marge (Frank) Struna and Josie (Chet) Hill.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Catherine Dombrosky; and five brothers and sisters.
Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor, OH 44060. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.)
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
