Funeral services for Roland J. Herbert, 73, of Euclid, will be 5:30 p.m. Saturday, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Herbert passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Euclid Hospital.
Born May 21, 1940, in Cleveland, he had been a lifetime Euclid resident.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the Euclid V.F.W. Post, Polish Legion American Veterans George Washington Post 31, and a member of Euclid Eagles Aerie 2221. Roland also enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Mr. Herbert was a musician and a former member of the Musician's Union.
He was the loving husband of 49 years to Martha L. (nee Sedam) Herbert; beloved father of Ronald J. (Helen) Herbert of Painesville, Teri (Tod) Egan of Wickliffe, Jeffrey A. (Molly) Herbert of Wickliffe, and Christina R. Herbert of Euclid; cherished grandfather of Rachel, Andrew, Katlyn, Anthony, Ashley, Justin, Daniel, Gregory, Brandon, Kimberley and Hailey; brother of Donald Herbert of Fairview Park and Thomas (Marilyn) Herbert of Asheboro, N.C.; and uncle of nieces and nephews. He was also the friend of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland J. and Frances (nee DeMoise) Herbert.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
