Services for Robert Stanton Johnson, 83, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. Johnson passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at his son's home.
He was born March 3, 1931, in Ashtabula, he had lived in Mentor-on-the-Lake for more than 60 years.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 336 in Painesville and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, formerly of Mentor-on-the-Lake. He was an avid Cleveland Indians baseball fan.
Mr. Johnson was employed as a district manager with The Ohio Credit Union League retiring in 1993.
Survivors are his children, Bonnie (Dennis) Glass of Beaufort, S.C. and Ronald (Rhonda) Johnson of Painesville Township; grandchildren, Ronald Johnson, Jr., Mitchell Johnson, John (Mary) Peters, Russell (Debbie) Glass, Krystal Glass Reid and Amber Toth; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Dennis, Sarah, Dylan, Matthew, Nathan, Hayden, Logan, Victoria, Laney, Daniel, Bryce, Leah and Landyn; and brother, Donald (Wilma) Johnson of Pennsylvania. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Harriet E. Johnson, on August 26, 2011; his parents, Joakim and Elizabeth (Stanton) Johnson; and brothers, Tom, Bill, Joe and Hal Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the funeral home. Pastor Douglas Camp will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Perry Cemetery.
