Jean Barcus Obituary
She was born Sept. 18, 1956 in Painesville.
Jeannie worked at Melrose and The Progressive Insurance Co.
She was devoted to her late son Matt. Her passion for genealogy and knitting led her to be the "Go To Girl" for family information or a Christmas stocking. She truly had a compassion for her Elders and her nieces and nephews. We also have to give a "Shout Out" to her World of Warcraft family! She will be missed by anyone who knew her.
Survivors are her siblings Joann (Jim Clark) Dagnan – Smartt, Kim (RC Taylor) Majernik, James Barcus and Robert (Kathy Clancy) Barcus; and her nieces and nephews Bryan, Carie and Daniel Dagnan, Diana and Jamie Rupert and Mitch Majernik.
She was preceded in death by her son Matthew Hammond; parents James and Alice Barcus; her great aunt Mildred Johnson; her brother Donald Barcus and her great nephew Thomas Toubman.
Graveside services will be held 12 noon Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Jeannie contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309 or to the University Hospitals of Cleveland Hospice, 11100 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106-5062.

She was one of the sweetest people I've ever known. And her heartbreak over her son was just so devastating. I'm so sorry to hear she passed away.
