LONGVIEW — Mr. Beavers went peacefully with the angels on May 6, 2013 at the age of 74. He was born in Homer, Louisiana, graduated from Homer High School and attended college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
He was a longtime resident of Longview. Mr. Beavers was employed at Marathon LeTourneau and retired after 37 years, where he was a quality control manager. He then worked as a consultant at Amega Industries.
Mr. Beavers was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he loved his family and his little eight pound terror, Lulu. He enjoyed being at home and working on the "farm" in Louisiana. Mr. Beavers also enjoyed traveling with his wife to places in the South and was an avid LSU fan; he never missed watching a game or listening to it on the radio.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Toni; a brother, Dwight; and a sister, LaQuita.
Mr. Beavers is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat; a son, Tim Beavers and wife, Dee; two wonderful grandchildren, Mikel and Micayla Beavers; sisters whom he loved dearly, Nell Thomas and Eileen White; a large family; and host of friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at McCary's Chapel United Methodist Church, 5758 N. Old Hwy. 135 in Liberty City.
Flowers may be sent to the church on Monday. Contact information is Eva Schuler at (903) 746.1756.
