LONGVIEW — Vernon Byron Farr, 84, of Houston, Texas, passed away June 25, 2012, at Good Shepherd Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1927. Byron has lived in Longview, Texas, for the past 36 years. Services for Byron will be 11 a.m. today, June 27, 2012, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Ross Worley officiating. Burial will be noon Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas.
Byron served in the United States Navy
. He loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop and was very accomplished in the skill. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and was a devoted Christian.
Byron is survived by his wife, Clara Farr; sons, Jason Farr and wife, Kim, and Dale Francis and wife, Roberta; daughter, Carolyn Eberle, and grandsons, Jon and Ryan Eberle; daughters, Rita Anthony, Gaila Stonestreet, Sharon Rockamonte and Donna Bloomer; and his beloved dogs, Salah and Lollypop. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
