LONGVIEW — Services for Wesley Henry "Buddy" Edwards, 87, of Longview, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the chapel of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, with the Rev. David McGee officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mr. Edwards passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at a local hospital.
Mr. Edwards was born May 2, 1925, in Miami, Florida, to Charles H. and Ethel Davis Edwards. He had been a resident of Longview since the early 1990s. Mr. Edwards owned and operated E.W. Amusements and was a
U.S. Navy veteran. He was a Baptist and loved spending time with his family, going to flea markets, working on cars and playing bingo.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Evelyn Edwards of Longview; his children and their spouses, Larry and Daisy Edwards of Waco, Wesley and Desireé Edwards of Longview, Patricia and Frankie Carpenter of North Carolina, Debra Ann and Paul Beaty of Cove, Arkansas, Bobby and June Edwards of Longview, Jerry and Kathy Edwards of Longview, Charles and Mary Edwards of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Vickie and Jerald Crow of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Claude and Dee Dee Edwards of Las Cruces, New Mexico; 34 grandchildren; and an abundance of great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. today, December 7, 2012, at Welch Funeral Home.
