MARSHALL — Ann White, 76, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Marshall, Texas. She was born May 11, 1936, to R.L. and Gladys (Mares) Boyd in Logansport, La. Ann graduated from high school in Logansport, La., and on December 26, 1953, she married the love of her life, Carroll White (then airman second class U.S.A.F.).
Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years; her children, Teresa Hebert (Butch), Mike White (Billie) and Steven White (Hanspeter Schaub); and her grandchildren, Chris Hebert, Jeremy Hebert, Mandi Barr, Rusty Hebert and Michael White.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Hunter Barr, Kyliee Barr, Tabitha Hebert, Rayle Hebert, Shelbi Hebert, Sophie Hebert, Payton Hebert, Larissa White, Madison White and Collin White; and her two sisters, Jeanette Cosby and Evelyn Hoard; as well as numerous other family members and friends who knew and loved her.
She was a member of Grange Hall United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Methodist Women's Group and the choir. She was a former member of Texas A&M Mother's Club, but her true passion was her family and grandchildren.
She loved to fish and was an excellent southern cook. Ann worked for the Marshall Fire Department for more than 19 years, serving under three fire chiefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings, Willard Boyd, D.W. Boyd, Leland Boyd, Katie Phelps and Margie Chandler. She was also preceded in death by three nieces and one nephew.
Visitation for Ann were 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, March 5, 2013, at Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home, with entombment following at Colonial Gardens Mausoleum in Marshall, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Hebert, Jeremy Hebert, Rusty Hebert, Bernie Barr, Nubbin Boyd and Roger Stewart.
