Hans Burkhardt of Port Orange passed away on Monday, February 4th. Hans was born in Germany on July 9, 1923. He married Erna Walter, in Stein Germany, on November 6, 1948. Hans and Erna immigrated to the U.S. in 1953 and settled in New York. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for National Airlines and then Pan AM at JFK, until his retirement in 1985 when they moved to Florida. Hans is survived by his loving wife Erna of Port Orange; their son Richard, and his wife Deanna of Long Beach, NY. In accordance with his wishes, there will be a Celebration of Hans' Life held at the Briarwood Community Center, 5644 Regency Blvd., Port Orange, FL on Saturday, March 2nd starting at 2PM. Coffee and cake will be served following the memorial.
