Anne Albanese

Born Anne DiFolco, October 28, 1920, in Providence, R.I., wife/widow of Vincent Albanese, passed over Friday, May 4, 2007, at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Port Orange, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Albanese moved to the Daytona Beach area with her husband, Vincent from from Warwick, R.I., in 1974. She was a retired bookkeeper, the first woman president of the Italian-American Club of Daytona Beach, and the past president of the Eastern Deanery of the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and traveling, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Gagne, Gainesville; her son, Domenic and his wife, Ann, Port Orange; six grandchildren, David Gagne, Jennifer Gagne, Melissa Palumbo, Keith Albanese, Amber Albanese and Domenic Albanese III; four great-grandchildren; brother, Domenic DiFolco, Warwick; and sister, Madeline Paniccia, Providence. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Thursday, May 10) at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange. A funeral Mass to be held at Sacred Heart Church, New Smyrna, Friday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m. Friends and family will meet at Volusia Memorial Funeral Friday morning at 8 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Church in funeral procession.
