Barry Dean Adams

Barry Dean Adams, 56, Daytona Beach, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2009. Born December 11, 1952 in Akron, Ohio , Barry has been a resident of this area since he was seven years old. He was baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He loved caring for animals. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Thelma Craig, Holly Hill; sister, Sheila Craig Lopez and her husband, Julian, Ormond Beach; brothers, Larry Gene Compton and Michael Charles Craig, both of Holly Hill; two nieces, Lindsay Grace Lopez and Morgan Elizabeth Lopez; and nephew, J.C. Lopez III, all of Ormond Beach; cousins, Darlene Gainey & family, Ormond Beach; Steven Lebo & family, Port Orange; Debbie Cook & family, Ft. Meyers; Uncles, Gary Childress & family, Virginia and Carmel Childers & family, Ohio. He is predeceased by his companion, Darlene (Dee) M. Scheel. The family will receive friends & relatives Saturday, September 5, 2009, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made in his memory to Florida Hospice Care Oceanside, 264 S. Atlantic Ave., Ormond Beach, FL 32176.
