Brittany Rose Alma Bumpus, our Sweet, Gentle Warrior was set free, surrounded by those she treasured most, her family. Her 26 years of life are a lesson of courage, grace, love and light to all who know her. Rosie leapt into life, feet first, on June 25, 1987. As a young child, she enjoyed Girl Scouts, dance, reading, and time spent with family. She soared at Sunrise Elementary, Heritage Middle School and Pine Ridge High School, where she was an exemplary student, Editor-in-Chief of the high school newspaper, voted Most Intelligent by her peers, and awarded the News Journal's Medallions of Excellence. Rosie earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Stetson University while fearlessly exploring her illness through her award-winning student films 'Breathe' and '22'. Though she long dreamt of teaching preschool, her health steered her toward a life of art, delving into singing, songwriting, poetry and web writing, homemade craftwork, vegan cooking and meditation. Some sources of love and enlightenment she found along her way include The Book of Awakenings, One by Richard Bach, the movie "The Fountain", and the music of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Through her work, she adopted the profession of a self-described Love Enthusiast. Love, Family, and Nature were Rosie's compass, her North Star. A spiritual person, her religion was a deep love and devotion for her fiancé and family. This love radiated outward to embrace natural preservation. She could often be found taking in the morning light or the colorful sunset on the back porch of her family's home. Rosie is survived by her parents, Larry and Vicki Bumpus; her fiancé, Alvaro Ramos; her siblings—Bridget and James Morgan, Jason Bumpus, Lindsay and Alex Conde, Dillon Bumpus, Kyle Bumpus and Wyatt Bumpus, all of Maryville, TN; Tyler and Christine Bumpus, of Sanford, FL; Joshua Bumpus and Dustin Bumpus, both of New York, NY; her nephews—Kason, Fox, and Brandon; her niece, Kelly; her grandmother, Roberta Bumpus, of Ocala, FL; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless beautiful friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Kelly Lynn; her grandmother, Claire Cuticchia, her grandfathers, James Dwyer, John Cuticchia and Delbert Bumpus.
