A Memorial Service for Mr. Bruce Leonard Ford, Sr., 60, Oakland, CA, who passed on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Oakland, CA, will be 3 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Mt. Zion AME Church, with Rev. David Connelly, Pastor, presiding and Rev. Lorenzo Laws, Pastor, Allen Chapel AME Church, New Smyrna Beach, delivering the main eulogy. Services of Committal and Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Mr. Ford was born on September 13, 1952 to Randolph & Ardrena Ford, Sr. He was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church. He attended Mainland High School. He served and retired from the United State Navy and was employed with the United States Postal Service. He was preceded in death by a son: Eric R. Ford, Sr. and a sister: Gwendolyn Ford. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Theadoris Ford; 2 sons: Byron Ford, Daytona Bch, FL, Bruce L. Ford, Jr., Oakley, CA; 3 grandchildren: Keyanna Ford, Breanna Ford, both of Daytona Bch, FL, Eric Ford, Jr., Oakley, CA; his mother: Ardrena Ford, Daytona Bch, FL; siblings: Randolph Ford (Pauline), Melvin Ford (Gwendolyn), Marvin Ford, Sonya White (Abraham), all of Daytona Bch, FL, Bernard Ford, Sr., Columbus, GA; sisters-in-law: Charmaine Swinger (Kenneth), Stockton, CA, Rolanda Calhoun, Oakland, CA; brothers-in-law: Willie Calhoun, James Calhoun, Robert Calhoun, all of Oakland, CA; aunts & uncles: Ernest Ford (Marlyn), Newport News, VA, William Ford (Jennie), Claritha Webb (Walter), Emma Williams, Jersey City, N J, Samuel Dixon, New Eleton, SC, Minnie King, Inez Kennick, both of Daytona Bch, FL, Evelyn Johnson, Tampa, FL; a host of nieces and nephews of whom he adored and asked that God keep his loving arms around you, and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
