Debra T. (Debbie) Cole, of DeLand, FL lost her battle with cancer on December 3, 2012. She was born in Cheyenne, WY, the daughter of Al and Jean Tafoya, and shared the last 35 years with husband, Scott Cole. In addition to her husband and father, Debbie is survived by two sisters, Robin Moffett and Pam Lindsay; brother, Kurt Adden; 17 nieces and nephews; aunt, Judy Rish; and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, grandparents, sister, Gloria Bossert; and mother-in-law, Lee Cole Monroe. Debbie never had children, but became a "2nd mom" to a handful who considered her family. She was an avid animal-lover and considered her pets her children. During her last days at home, Debbie's two dogs, Zoe and Dale, were frequently found curled up by her side. Best known for her big heart and sense of humor, Debbie never met a stranger and was passionate about helping others with cancer through the Plymouth Avenue Cancer Support Group and the Cancer Support Group at the Florida Cancer Institute, both groups are in DeLand. She was a member of Gator Country Cloggers throughout the 90s and more recently enjoyed social networking and online gaming, as well as crafting for family and friends and the annual DeLand Family YMCA Holiday Craft Show. She liked chocolate chip cookies without the chips, Oreos without the cream and red & white candy hearts. Services will be held at the Plymouth Avenue Christian Church, 1101 East Plymouth Ave., DeLand, Florida 32724, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local
