Funeral mass for Donald Gardner, 86, of Ormond Beach passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Father Tom Barrett and Father James Queen as co-celebrants. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Resurrection Mausoleum at Grace Lutheran Church. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Gardner was born May 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to this area in 1980. He was a U. S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II and Korea and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a former heating, air condition and refrigeration instructor with Washington Trade School in Chicago. Mr. Gardner was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, American Legion Post #267 in Ormond Beach and was past president of the Irish American Club in Daytona Beach. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Noreen; two sons, Donald and his wife Laura and Neal and his wife Heather; five grandchildren, Neal, Linda, Jason, Hunter and Kate; two sisters, Jeanne Rule and Carol Roller.
