Funeral Services for Ms. Doris McCoy, 75, Daytona Beach, will be 11 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Eddie L. Yorker, Pastor of St. James Baptist Church, delivering the main eulogy. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 - 8:30 PM, Friday (today, Feb. 22) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Sat. Ms. McCoy was born to the late Johnny C. and Alice McCoy on December 15, 1937 in Sale City, GA. She was youngest sister of 13 siblings, 11 sisters and 2 brothers. She has been a resident of Daytona Beach, FL for over 60 years. She attended Volusia County Public Schools, graduating from the former Campbell Street High School and worked at Ormond Beach Health Care for over 35 years until she retired. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church where she served in hospitality, Usher Board and as a devoted member. In her lifetime she enjoyed working, taking care of her family and cooking delectable meals. On Fri., Feb. 15, 2013 at 4:30 PM, Ms. McCoy, surrounded by her loved ones, vacated her earthly tabernacle and instantly appeared in the presence of the Almighty God, where she now rejoices. She was also preceded in death by a son: James Douglas. She leaves to cherish her memory: 4 children: Walter Lee (Katherine), Linda Ann (Robert), Mancle Jerome (Mary) and Norman Allen (Trudy) McCoy; a sister: Cora McCoy; a brother: Rufus McCoy; She was the grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Michelle, Latoya, Walter Lee, Jr., Carlos, Maquisha, Mancle, Jr. "Manny", Royd, Norman Aremon, Devin, Trevis, Tatianna; 6 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and friends.
